Put debris on footpath: Council

IPSWICH City Council has set tomorrow as the deadline for stacking flood debris in flooded areas onto the footpaths.

Mayor Paul Pisasale said this debris was expected to be cleaned from the footpaths overnight Thursday and Friday morning.

“This will only be done in streets that were flooded, so if you are up above the flood line, don’t bother,” he said.

“Anyone in the flood zones who may still have flood material requiring removal can call council for a free skip.”

Cr Pisasale said about 20,000 tonnes of flood-affected materials had been taken to the city’s landfills since the clean-up began.
