Man found dead in car

A COMMUNITY still coming to terms with the devastation of the floods was rocked at the weekend when a man was found dead in his car.

A passer-by found the 38-year-old man, believed to be from Esk, dead in his car parked by the side of the Brisbane Valley Highway in the heart of Fernvale, near the tourist centre.

The witness called police about 8.30pm on Saturday and officers rushed to the scene.

It is believed the man may have suffered from a pre-existing medical condition. The death was deemed non-suspicious and police are preparing a report for the State Coroner.
