Man to face rape, torture charges

AN IPSWICH man has been extradited from Grafton jail to face charges in Ipswich Magistrates Court including grievous bodily harm, rape and torture.

The extradition orders for the 25-year-old from Camira were granted at Grafton Local Court on Monday.

Police have charged him with grievous bodily harm, rape, torture, deprivation of liberty, entering a dwelling and committing an indictable offence and common assault.

Police will allege the offences were committed at Camira in April and May.

The man appeared from custody in the Ipswich court on Wednesday and the case was adjourned until December 20.
