Ipswich lights up to support Paris

TONIGHT the city of Ipswich will join with the rest of the world to support Paris with a special light and sound show from the light towers in Robelle Domain.

Mayor Paul Pisasale said the towers would light up in red, white and blue accompanied by the sound of classic French songs.

"The world is still in shock following the random terrorist attacks in Paris.

"I just can't believe how tragic and senseless it is.

"Last Friday in Paris was a dark day. We offer our community's support for the residents of Paris through lighting up the night with a special light and sound show.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and friends of innocent victims who were simply going about their daily lives," Cr Pisasale said.

The light and sound show will run from 7pm and 9pm for one hour every night this week at Robelle Domain in Springfield Central.
