Big cash for hole in one

FANCY your chance at potting a hole in one at Ipswich Golf Club?

Well, you could be in the running for a big cash bonus if you do it while taking part in the third annual Ipswich Golf 4 Health charity golf day.

The fundraiser for the Ipswich Hospital Foundation is organised by the North Ipswich Rotary Club and attracts more than 100 participants.

This year it will be held on the new-look Ipswich Golf Club links from 8am on Friday, March 25.

Organisers are aiming to raise close to $20,000 – with last year’s tournament raising $17,000 for the foundation.

North Ipswich Rotary member Rob Walker said he hoped the tournament would again attract a good number of entries despite recent floods and another fundraiser being held at Brookwater Golf Course on the same day.

Prizes for the Ambrose tournament will go to nearest the pin and the longest drive, with by far the best prize – $50,000 – going to anyone who can sink a hole in one.

Several golf equipment companies will be setting up displays on the day for anyone hoping to upgrade their kit.

All funds raised will be spent on the foundation and University of Queensland’s joint Healthy Communities Research Centre project. For details, visit www.ipswichgolf4health.com.au or phone 3813 6201.
