Jail builder lends hand

THE building and engineering firm behind the Gatton prison development says it is lending a hand to help the general community get back on its feet.

Baulderstone Queensland general manager Stephen Green said the Southern Queensland Correctional Centre development suffered only minimal damage.

He said the Lockyer Valley Regional Council had accepted Baulderstone's offer of labour and machinery to help return the shire to a state where life could begin to return to normal.

Baulderstone has donated a crew of 15 people, two trucks, a bobcat, forklift and backhoe to be used in a street by street clean-up.
