Invitation for cancer nurses

CANCER Council Queensland is inviting Ipswich nurses to remember the positive aspects they experience when caring for cancer patients by entering the annual Alf Kretschmar Awards.

Enrolled nurses, student nurses and assistants-in-nursing across the state can enter the 2011 Alf Kretschmar Awards by submitting a written piece on the topic, Caring for the person with cancer – a positive nursing experience.

The winner will receive $1000 in prize money plus a scholarship to attend the 34th annual Oncology Nurses Group Conference at Brisbane’s Novotel Hotel on April 7 and 8.

The conference will provide a forum for health industry workers to join their colleagues for networking, professional development and discussions about cancer diagnosis, treatment and disease prevention.

Entries must be received by 5pm February 4 and must be no longer than 1200 words. Visit www.ongconference.org.au.
