Injured crash victim on the mend

A WOMAN who was seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash at Haigslea has been showing signs of recovery.

The 50-year-old Toogoolawah woman had to be airlifted to the Royal Brisbane Hospital last Friday night after she was involved in a crash at the intersection of the Warrego Highway and Schultzs Rd.

RACQ CareFlight spokesman Ryan Purchase said the woman had been in a silver sedan with her husband and their son in the back.

She was trapped by her legs for up to an hour while emergency services worked quickly to cut her free and treat her for injuries, which included a badly broken pelvis.

She was in a critical condition when she arrived at hospital, but has since stabilised and was moved into a regular ward yesterday.

Another person who was injured in the crash was taken to the PA Hospital by ambulance.

The intersection of the Warrego Highway, Schultzs Rd and Haigslea-Amberley Rd is notorious and has been blamed for several serious and fatal accidents in recent years.
