Extra carriages for steam train trip

DUE to the popularity of the steam train heading to Yandina this Saturday the Australian Railway Historical Society, have had to add extra carriages to cater for the demand.

The train arrives in Yandina at 11am and departs at 11.55am for the shuttle to Cooroy with arrival back in Yandina at 1.35pm and departure back to Brisbane at 2.40pm.

The route includes the very steep climb from Eumundi to Cooroy so lots of noise from the locomotive.

Passengers wishing to travel on the train need to pre-book by contacting the Australian Railway Heritage Society on 3252 1759 between 10am and 3pm Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday.

The Australian Railway Historical Society is a "not for profit" society and ARHS Members are volunteers on the trains.

At present the train will be hauled by a Class A16 (The Yank) steam locomotive and all the carriages will be from the restored heritage carriage fleet.
