Hunt for man after armed robbery

POLICE are hunting a man who attempted to rob a North Booval convenience store while armed with a knife.

The man entered the Gledson St store about 2.35pm on Friday and approached the front counter.

He produced a knife and demanded the shopkeeper to hand over cash, however the shopkeeper was able to scare the would-be robber off with a chair.

Police said the offender was last seen getting into an unidentified green car.

The offender was described as 180cm, obese, with a moustache, a heavily tattooed arm and wearing shorts.
