House under threat from grassfire

Fire no longer a threat to Chuwar homes

EMERGENCY services were called to extinguish a grassfire at Chuwar which threatened to get out of control.

Queensland Fire and Rescue crews were alerted to the fire on Tuesday at 11am in a paddock off Francis Street.

It is understood a nearby resident was burning some lantana in his backyard and the fire got away from him.

No property was destroyed in the fire.
