Teen in critical condition after being struck by 4WD

UPDATE: A 19-year-old Gatton man is fighting for his life after being run over by a four-wheel drive early on Wednesday morning.

Police believe the man was lying on the road in Hill St, close to the rear entrance to Gatton Hospital, when he was struck about 2.30am.

After initial assessment at Gatton Hospital, the man was flown by helicopter to Brisbane's Princess Alexandra Hospital with life-threatening head injuries.

He was listed as being in a critical but stable condition late on Wednesday.

The driver of the four-wheel drive, a 47-year-old Gatton man, was not injured.

Police from the Forensic Crash Unit and Scenes of Crime are investigating the incident.
