Hop in for hit of chocolate bliss

IT IS claimed that Casanova loved it, it is enjoyed more than sex by some people, and it makes you feel good.

I speak of chocolate, a favourite of many people and consumed in many different styles from bars to expensive boxes, fountains, cakes and anything in between.

Gala Fine Chocolates and Gifts is a local destination to satisfy the most discerning chocolate consumer.

Scientists still have no conclusive answer as to why chocolate is so popular, but I think owner of Gala Fine Chocolates and Gifts, Debbi Engler, might just have some clues.

"We have chocolates from around the world and customers just love it," she said.

The business has moved into Booval Fair after being located in the Orion Shopping Centre.

"We were at Orion for four and a half years and it was time for a change, and Booval Fair is a great location," Ms Engler said.

"Many of my clients have found me and are coming into the shopt."

The main chocolate brands are Everfresh and Chocolatier, the feature range for the store, and it does stock Hillier's chocolates.

Also stocked are popular products from New Zealand, the United States with Hershey's and pop tarts, the UK and Holland with the Dutch favourite liquorice.

"It is the best seller. It is a salty liquorice and different to what we normally eat, but they love it," Ms Engler said.

Chocolates are available boxed or they can be purchased by looking over the extensive range of individual chocolates.

On the gift front, Gala Fine Chocolates and Gifts have a big range to choose from.

There are lots of cuddly toys and a wide range of cards.

With Easter on the doorstep, Gala Fine Chocolates and Gifts will be a must-visit location this week.

"We have one kilo, 500 gram and 200 gram bunnies. We have a full range of eggs as well as sugar free eggs and special diet eggs including gluten, nut and dairy free products," Ms Engler said.

The business is opposite the Booval Fair newsagency at the northern end of Booval Fair.

The store is open from 9am-5.30pm Monday to Friday, until 8pm Thursday and from 9am-4pm Saturday. Phone 3282 9675 for more details.
