Honour emaciated horse Chester with donation

DONATE: A legacy has been set up in honour of Chester.

A LEGACY program has been set up in memory of a horse which touched many, in the hope all horses can be given a chance.

Chester was a 30-plus-year-old Arabian stallion.

The horse's emaciated condition sparked outrage after he appeared at the Laidley horse sales recently.

While Chester's treatment is investigated, North West Equine Rescue has set up a legacy program. "Sadly he was laid to rest, however his legacy will live on," the NWER Facebook page said.

"It's called Chester's Legacy because Chester would have been his name.

"This legacy will see us have the funds and resources readily available if/when a situation such as Chester's arises, to purchase, transport, seek immediate medical attention and rehabilitate if possible and when rehab is not possible, to lay the soul to rest in the arms of a loving person thus ending their suffering.

"Imagine if everyone donated $1 to Chester's Legacy."

To donate, the bank details are:

  • BSB: 062574
  • Account: 10232975
  • North West Equine Rescue, Commonwealth Bank
  • Ref: Chester
  • PayPal: donations@northwest
  • equine.org.au
  • Donations of $2 or more are tax deductible
