OPINION: Honesty and integrity is key to life
THERE are many who live in Ipswich who live by the motto to treat others in the same way they themselves would like to be treated.
It is something my father told me to do many years ago when all I seemed to care about was what happened to me.
I have found in most cases that if you play a straight bat and act honestly that people will relate to you and you will enjoy their friendship.
Unfortunately in life you will come across some who prefer to play the game with the sole purpose of coming out the winner.
It's disappointing when you place your trust in these people to find out what they really say behind closed doors. How do you treat these people when you are finally enlightened to their real character?
Now that's a question my father didn't prepare me for. It's easy to get burned up and embark on a vendetta. Many people do, but the real answer is to reveal that you are bigger than that and accept that in life you will meet all types.
Letting those who disappoint you get under your skin only serves to bring you down to their level.
