Police give school all clear after report of armed man
UPDATE 2PM: Police have been unable to substantiate an earlier report of an armed man walking through an Ipswich school.
Checks were conducted at Bremer State High School about 10.50am today after a student reported seeing a person armed with a knife.
Police said foot patrols and viewing of closed circuit TV footage were unable to find anything to back up the claim.
The school was placed in lockdown for a short time, but classes are now back to normal.
EARLIER: An Ipswich school has been placed in lockdown this morning following reports of an armed man inside the grounds.
Police received a call about 10.50am, claiming a person with a knife had been sighted at Bremer State High School.
A subsequent search of the Warwick Rd school grounds has been unable to confirm the report as yet.
Police say all students are safe.
