Helping orphans in Vietnam

WHEN Tracey Lindsay visited Vietnam two years ago, the poverty and sheer number of orphans compelled her to find a way to help.

Next month the Warwick West State School employee will travel back to the country to volunteer in orphanages as part of the Global Volunteer Network.

"We loved Vietnam so much but you couldn't help but notice they're living standards are much lower than ours," Miss Lindsay said.

West students will support her cause and hold an "around the world" themed free dress day on Friday, with students donating a gold coin toward supplies for the Vietnamese orphans.

These may include such things as pens, fruit, school books and other items.
