A TASKFORCE Maxima road policing unit has arrested an alleged Hells Angels outlaw motorcycle gang member for drug driving on the Warrego Highway in Ipswich yesterday.

As a result of the traffic intercept a 32-year-old man allegedly tested positive to methylamphetamine and cannabis.

Detective Acting Inspector Russell Jones of Taskforce Maxima said police use a variety of strategies to disrupt the activities of criminal gangs.

"This includes a focused traffic enforcement program which operates in conjunction with criminal investigations", Acting Detective Inspector Jones said.

A man from Brassall has been issued with a notice to appear for driving whilst under the influence of a drug.

He is due to appear in the Ipswich Magistrates Court on March 9.
