Heavy rain to continue

IPSWICH could be in for a repeat of yesterday’s heavy rain periods according to Bureau of Meteorology forecasters.

Rain periods are predicted today with the possibility of thunderstorms throughout the day and into the night.

A few showers are predicted for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, with the first sign of clear weather predicted for the weekend.

But even then forecasters predict fine periods with possible showers.

Current flood warnings predict flood levels of at least 10 metres in the Bremer River at Ipswich early this morning.

The Lockyer Creek remains on flood watch.
