Health matters with launch of new expo
RUGBY league legend Steve Walters will be guest speaker at a health, wellbeing and careers expo on the weekend.
Walters will officially launch the inaugural All Things Healthy Expo at the University of Southern Queensland Ipswich Campus on Saturday from 10am.
Walters understands the need to be in good health and physical condition more than most and will share his views of “health through the ages” at the event.
The expo, presented by Ipswich Hospital Foundation, is supported by major sponsors St Andrews Ipswich Private Hospital, West Moreton Hospital and Health Service and TAFE Queensland South West.
Ipswich Hospital Foundation Executive Officer Tom Yates said it is excellent to be presenting this event with facilitators of health in our area who are so passionate.
St Andrew’s Ipswich Private Hospital CEO Chris Went said St Andrew’s Ipswich Private was proud to be a sponsor of the inaugural wellness expo.
“The importance of maintaining a fit, active workforce cannot be overemphasised so we look forward to taking part in the events on the day,” she said.
“Our hospital has experienced high levels of growth and is set to expand over the coming years, so we encourage the local community to come along to the expo and learn about the opportunities in the health sector and how to take the first step to get started on your chosen career.”
West Moreton Hospital and Health Service Chief Executive Sue McKee said West Moreton Hospital and Health Service was excited to support the inaugural “All Things Healthy” Expo, bringing Health, Wellbeing and Career exhibitors together in one venue.
“This will be a great opportunity to discover more about the services we provide, how you can become involved with guiding the direction of the Health Service, to find out about what jobs are on offer within the Health Service and to sign up for future vacancies.”
