Heading to NSW this long weekend? Don't get caught out

IT'S Friday. The long weekend is just about here.

Maybe you've already packed your bags for a three-day weekend of spring, long weekend bliss.

But if you're heading across the border into New South Wales there's something you might not have realised: Daylight Saving Time begins on Sunday.

What that means is at 2am on Sunday the clocks will go forward an hour, meaning it will actually be 3am. Effectively, an hour of the day will disappear, until you return to Queensland, that is.

Victoria, the Australian Capital Territory and Tasmania will also be putting the clocks forward at that time.

NSW will turn the clocks back an hour on the first Sunday in April, putting the state back in line with Queensland.
