He broke a vow for her
TWENTY years ago Adrian Flikweert vowed he'd never marry again.
But that was before he met Babylyn Garillo.
He knows she's younger than him but there's something about her personality, charm and maturity that he couldn't resist.
They met online and started the first relationship Adrian has had for years that made him feel alive again.
It also made him go back on his own promise to never be a husband again, a decision he couldn't be happier about.
"I've dated a few people but it turned out she was the one," Adrian said.
The pair was married on Saturday at Apex Park, Gladstone, with a few close friends and relatives.
Babylyn's family couldn't make it to the wedding so they're planning a honeymoon and second ceremony for her relatives in September.
"She's already made herself at home. She loves it here, although she's a little bit homesick," Adrian said.
Before deciding to tie the knot the pair agreed they would live in Gladstone and there wouldn't be the patter of children's footsteps in their home.
"I'm too old to have babies running around," Adrian said.
"We discussed it all. I've had the snip and she's fine with that. She doesn't want kids either."
Adrian has found it challenging to meet someone in Gladstone.
He described his last relationship as a "horrible" breakdown.
But he wasn't nervous meeting Babylyn online because it was clear early that she was the real deal.
"I love everything about her," he said.
I know she's younger than me but she's way ahead of anyone else I have ever met.
"Her personality is just amazing."
