HAVE YOUR SAY: Why the Maroons are better

COOPER Cronk, one of the unsung heroes of the Maroons side, wasn't comfortable calling the current squad, which has won nine of the past 10 series, the best ever.

"I don't feel like I am in a position to comment on how good this team is because being part of it, it's very hard to reflect on yourself," Cronk told Wayne Heming of Australian Regional Media.

"I'll leave that to people such as yourself, guys who've been following the game for a long time to make those observations.

"For us, it's just been about respecting the jersey and the players who have gone before us and carrying that baton on into the future and playing with the respect the jersey deserves for the people of Queensland.

"This team has got a lot of humility about it.

"We don't take that lightly. We understand there are a lot of kids in Queensland who look up to us as footballers and as people and we need to play and show a lot of respect to the jumper."

BE A PART OF MAROONS TRIBUTE

Well, now it's time to have your say. We're paying tribute to the record-breaking Queensland Origin team. And you can be a part of it. Next week we'll be featuring a poster thanking the boys for the joy they've brought us on the way to winning 10 of the last 11 series. Go to our Facebook from 8pm tonight and tell what's so great about the Maroons. A framed copy of the poster, featuring the best comments, will be presented to the Queensland Rugby League.
