Havana Brown a major drawcard at Ipswich Cup

IT'S the biggest event on the city's social calendar and this year entertainment at the Ipswich Cup is set to be "bigger and better than ever".

Ipswich Turf Club general manager Brett Kitching said international act, DJ Havana Brown had been a major drawcard for many young race goers.

"Tickets have been selling at an overwhelming rate," he said.

"This year we've taken it a step up and we've added an international act, Havana Brown, who will be flying in by helicopter.

"To have an act like that come to Ipswich is a very big deal."

Mr Kitching said there will be a range of live entertainment throughout the day to appeal to all ages, with Electric 80s rocking the afterparty with a set of classic anthems.

"I've been to every Ipswich Cup since 1978 and I go for the same reason as everyone else, to catch up with old mates and enjoy the social atmosphere of the day," he said.

"The cup will have something for everyone.

"It'll be a day filled with colourful live racing, fashions on the field, entertainment, a world record attempt and a range of food and beverages."
