Harris to run out for Melbourne Storm in his first NRL game

AFTER scoring a try in Melbourne's gritty 18-14 World Club Challenge victory against Leeds on Saturday, former Napier youngster Tohu Harris is almost certain to make his NRL debut for the Storm in the round one clash against the Dragons.

Speaking from the North Island town yesterday, his mother, Dale Moffatt, said family and friends were preparing for the March 10 clash.

"We haven't had official confirmation yet, but we're 99% certain Tohu will make the 17 for the opener against the Dragons," she said.

"The club will fly Paul (Harris' father) and I over, but there are likely to be at least 20 of us leaving Napier. When we meet up with relatives across the Tasman, we will probably need at least 50 seats for the game."

Harris' father took the 31-hour flight to the UK for the World Club Challenge, and was rewarded when Storm coach Craig Bellamy allowed him to present his son with his playing jersey.

"From what we hear it was a pretty emotional experience ... some of Tohu's teammates choked up," Ms Moffatt said.

"Paul has emailed since the game and told us Bellamy and Tohu's teammates were thrilled with what Tohu did."
