Harcourts Ipswich plugs gap in real estate market

NEW Harcourts Ipswich owner Rod Jones says opening a new real estate agency in the city was a must to keep up with demand.

Mr Jones owns the Ipswich real estate agency, and one in Springfield Lakes, with his wife Janet.

There was a Harcourts in the city several years ago and Mr Jones said that in recent times there was a gap that needed filling.

He'd been receiving a lot of enquiries at his Springfield Lakes office and said it was "the logical step" to open in Ipswich CBD.

Mr Jones has eight local Ipswich staff and over a decade of experience in the industry.

 

"Ipswich was recently ranked as having four of the five most affordable suburbs in Queensland," he said.

"The mayor (Paul Pisasale) is very active at getting people to the area and there is only one way for it to go.

"Big companies are making their headquarters out this way and with all the infrastructure planning and the big commercial zone they have built over near the old power station it is very positive for the future.

"We see a lot of expansion in the Ripley Valley and Deebing Heights, and just general growth in Ipswich. We are very excited about what is going on.

"We have got a real positive public persona, and we see that as something to build on and to give people a positive alternative."
