Hanson divides Ipswich readers
LOVE her or hate her, there's no denying when Pauline Hanson makes a statement it's bound to result in some heated responses.
Many QT readers have disagreed with Ms Hanson in her most recent statement that Australia should follow Donald Trump's lead and stop the "Islamisation" of the country.
Her One Nation Party will field candidates in the federal seats of Blair, Oxley and Wright - seats which could ultimately decide the election.
Ipswich voters will make their final decision on Ms Hanson's politics when they head to the polls for a double dissolution election on July 2, however many have already hinted as to which way they will vote on the QT Facebook page:
Scarlet Burke Trump is using the same policy and media advisers as Abbott used. Implementing fear-mongering , short sentences and three word slogans to appeal to the simple-minded. We don't need more dumbing down.
John McCormack Pauline has nothing to offer. Great at complaining but offers zero solutions.
Mark Cresswell Pauline, you have the right to believe and say what you want, we have the right equally to call you an idiot and vote accordingly.
Cherie Christine Spreading more hate and division for what purpose? Ignorant people talk about protecting what we have when realistically, creating hate and division is what is destroying us slowly but surely.
Bernadette Petzler It appears Pauline jumps on whatever bandwagon is going past at the time. I was not impressed with her actual work as a member of Parliament when she was elected and it feels to me that she just contests elections as a way of earning money. Certainly would not get my vote.
Karla MacDonald Ipswich folk are smarter than Hanson gives them credit for. They might have been suckered in once, but not again.
Geoff Konopka While it's great and important to increase the diversity of opinions in our representatives, we can do without extremists in the same way that they are not helpful in religious settings. The relentless Americanisation of Australia makes me sad, I think Ms Hanson would do well to avoid using Trump as a role model. Others agreed with Ms Hanson's statements, saying One Nation had their vote at the upcoming federal election.
Evelyn Jones Go Pauline, you have my vote.
Trevor Carmel Lynette Coleman Good on you Pauline. You say exactly what we all think.
