Hands up for $9000 in nine hours?

WOULD you spend nine hours holding a sign to win $9000?

That was the Australian challenge thrown out to outlast the Huawei Mate 9 smartphone.

The Chinese smartphone giant, keen to cut into Samsung and Apple's phone market, hosted a series of challenges at World Square in Sydney.

Over the duration of nine hours, nine contestants were required to hold their hand on a 3D Mate 9 sign and complete nine different challenges using the Mate 9 smartphone to showcase the phone's exceptional battery life.

At the end of each challenge, contestants were rewarded with points, with the contestant with the most points at the end of the day awarded as the winner.

Max Mason won a grand prize of $9,000 and a brand new HUAWEI Mate 9.

He was more than chuffed, saying he would be happy to hand in his iPhone.

Second and third place both won the new Huawei Mate 9 phone.

The challenges included:
1. Mate 9 Selfie
2. Bring your mates
3. Heads up
4. Karaoke
