School's rugby league program way ahead of schedule

AS COACH of the ISHS firsts and head of the school's rugby league program, Lee Addison was delighted with the success his players have achieved.

"The program was designed to get players into the NRL," Addison said.

"But we're way ahead of schedule.

"One payer with an NRL club contract would have been a good result."

Addison's ISHS firsts achieved unprecedented success this season, winning the Gee Shield and establishing themselves in the Queensland Super six competition for the top six schoolboys teams in the state.

"We now believe this is the best place to play schoolboys rugby league in Ipswich," Addison said.

"One measure of success is what we achieved on the field.

"Then if a player gets to where he wants to go when he leaves school, that's the other measure."
