Giving brides a hand in marriage
THE Ipswich and West Moreton Bridal Expo is set to help out future brides and grooms by providing everything "wedding" under one roof.
Organiser Faye Flor said a major drawcard for this year's expo would be a wedding dress sale, where a range of gowns would all be sold for under $500.
"The brides have got the opportunity to come along and have a look through racks and racks of gowns and try them on as well," she said.
"We've also got two competitions, a door prize so the mothers of the brides and bridesmaids aren't left out and we've got the main bridal package to give away that's valued at just over $3000 brides that grooms can enter."
Ms Flor said couples could not only save money but time at the expo, which would host more than 55 exhibitors.
"There are so many experts at the expo that make it so easy to organise your wedding," she said.
"It's like a one-stop-shop, you can get everything done all in one afternoon.
"We have everything there from men's fashion, women's fashion, celebrants, photographers, and videographers.
"We have lots of venues, too, which in unusual. We even have ice sculptures - that is really quite a unique feature this year."
She said the expo aimed to cover all wedding needs for couples celebrating their special day.
"I think it's one of the most important days in a person's life. It's the start of their new life where they are going to create a home and a family, so you really need to start that off with a special day," she said.
"If people come along and have a talk with everybody they can discover that a wedding might not cost as much as they think."
The ninth annual expo will be held at the Ipswich Civic Centre this Sunday and opens to the public from 10am-2.30pm.
