Girls-only football program focuses on basic skills

COLLEGES United Football Club are again running a six-week girls only football program starting this week.

Sessions will be held at Mt Crosby Sportsground on Thursdays from 6pm-6.45pm.

Sessions will focus on developing the basic skills of the game without the pressure of performing in games.

The cost per child is $60 which includes insurance, a soccer ball and medallion.

Auskick program

THE NAB AFL Auskick program makes learning to play AFL fun and easy for girls.

The program is being offered at Greater Springfield Sports starting August 1.

Sessions will be held at the Woodcrest College Oval on Tuesdays from 5pm-6pm.

Cost of the program is $75. The first session is a free "come and try” session.

Event sponsorship

IPSWICH City Council are again offering the Sport Event Sponsorship program this financial year.

The Sporting Event Sponsorship program aims to assist eligible organisations to host local, district, regional, state, national and international sporting events within the boundaries of the city.

The objectives of the program are:

To increase physical activity for community benefit;

Assist in building the capacity of sport and recreation organisations to host events and for the events to become sustainable;

Create partnerships with local, state and national sporting organisations; and

Activate spaces and facilities.
