Girl trapped after part of deck collapses at Coast home

UPDATE: Firefighters have freed a teenage girl who was trapped when part of a house deck collapsed underneath her. 

Two ambulance crews and one fire crew were called to a residence at Lachlan Ave, Nambour, after the 000 call about 2.20pm.

The girl's leg was trapped in the deck, and firefighters were forced to use cutting equipment to free her. 

Paramedics assessed the girl, and found she had not suffered injuries in the ordeal. 


BREAKING: Paramedics are treating a teenage girl after a deck at a Sunshine Coast home collapsed, trapping her. 

A spokeswoman for the Queensland Ambulance Service said it appeared the girl had been on the deck when part of the structure broke under her feet.

Two ambulance crews are at the scene on Lachlan Ave.
