Giant water slide comes to Ipswich this weekend

AFTER making a splash in Toowoomba, The City Slider is set to offer thousands of Ipswich residents a chance to cool down in style.

The 325m-long water slide will sit right in the middle of the city of Griffith Rd, Eastern Heights and will be open for 12 hours on Saturday, October 31.

Running from just outside the PCYC, down the hill and finishing at the corner of Milford St, the two-lane, six-metre wide slide will take a team of 20 people to set up.

For the kids a free 25m long mini slide is available.

The day will be broken up into six 90-minute sessions, with room for 600 people per session.

Organisers encouraged participants to get to Griffith Rd before their session starts.

Sliders need to bring their printable PDF ticket, plus a waiver which can be found online.

Visit The City Slider website for more or head online to buy tickets.

Session times will be as follows on the day:

  • 9am - 10:30am
  • 11pm - 12:30pm
  • 1pm - 2:30pm
  • 3pm - 4:30pm
  • 5pm - 6:30pm
  • 7pm - 8:30pm
