Gatton puts on a spectacular show
THE weekend's Gatton show had it all - wild weather, plenty of rides and even a public marriage proposal by local entertainer Dave Manchon from the Rooftop Express.
Gatton Show president Keith Edwards said the night program had seats and stands packed at the show grounds.
Despite the challenging weather conditions on Friday, Mr Edwards predicted gate numbers tipped last year's record for the Saturday activities.
"What I enjoyed the most was the cross section of the community that visited our show," Mr Edwards said.
"There were people travelling from a long way away to enjoy the events, which was quite pleasing that they've taken the time to come."
Next year will mark 100 years of the Gatton Show and Mr Edwards said planning had already started for the milestone event.
"We are planning one like Gatton's never seen before and I'm feeling confident that it will be something very special," he said.
