Great Gatsby Gala Event switched on for worthy cause

PUT on some pearls and prepare to go back to the roaring 20s at The Great Gatsby Gala Event.

The Swichette ladies and men from Swich On are focused on improving health and well-being in Ipswich by hosting the glamorous fundraiser this weekend.

"The evening is sure to be memorable with some amazing live entertainment," Switchettes president Anne-Maree Savige said.

"This year we are raising money for the Cityhope Hampers of Hope Christmas Appeal.

"The hampers assist local families who have lost jobs, have accommodation issues, are fleeing domestic violence, are ill or hospitalised, who struggle to feed their family over the holidays. Cityhope works with agencies, last year the appeal assisted over 370 families.

"This year they are aiming to provide 500 hampers.

"We thought this was a wonderful beneficiary that can impact so many lives here in Ipswich. It's a privilege to be able to assist Cityhope Church in the great work they do."

Ms Savige said guests could win a number of great prizes including an impressive overseas trip.

"There are excellent auction items and the major raffle prize is sure to be a highlight with winners receiving a trip for two to New York City," she said.

"We hope you can join us for a spectacular night filled with great company, entertainment and loads of fun 'Gatsby' style while raising money for a great cause."

The Gala Event will be held at Woodlands of Marburg on November 14, from 6pm. Accommodation is available on 5464 4777.
