Future of gym at Booval Fair uncertain

THE future of Goodlife Health Clubs' Booval Fair gym is uncertain, rumoured to close late next month.

Readers contacted The Queensland Times concerned about membership contracts with claims the gym would close on November 29.

Goodlife Health Club State Manager Stefanie Nicholson said the lease at Booval Fair ended in January and the company was in negotiations with centre management.

"We are considering our options," she said.

Ms Nicholson said members would be given plenty of notice when a decision was reached but would not answer further questions from The QT on membership numbers, only to say: "Business is going as well as it can be."

Booval Fair centre manager Craig Moffatt said he could not discuss Goodlife gym's lease arrangements.

Established in 2002, the Goodlife Health Club operates 66 gyms with 175,000 members across the country. It operates two gyms in Ipswich, at Booval Fair and Riverlink shopping centre.
