Road Trip concert oozes nostalgia

PACKED with old and new favourite songs, the Cambrian Show Choir hopes its latest production will bring back fun summer memories for its audience.

Choir musical director Michelle French said inspiration for the Road Trip concert had been simple.

“We wanted to do a summer concert,” Mrs French said.

“Lot’s of people in their summer holidays go away on road trips. The show includes songs which you would crank up in the car if you are having a road trip.”

She said the concert would showcase the talents of some of Ipswich’s finest young performers through singing, instrumental performance, conducting, choreography and dance.

The concert includes songs from The Beatles and The Beach Boys, as well as numbers from musical favourites Grease, Jersey Boys and Glee.

Proceeds from the evening on Saturday, February 12, will be donated to the Premier’s Disaster Relief Appeal.

“A lot of us haven’t been able to get out and help with the physical clean-up,” Mrs French said.

“This is our way of doing our bit.”

The Road Trip concert will be held from 7.30pm at the Cambrian Centre at 10 South Station Road, Booval.

Bookings are essential.

Tickets are available online at www.trybooking.com/LMA or by phoning 0407 119 662.
