Funding confirmed for Brisbane Valley storm

THE State and Federal Governments have announced a joint funding effort for the storm recovery in the Brisbane Valley.

Federal Member for Blair Shayne Neumann said Natural Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangements (NDRRA) are in place to help communities recover and that he'd offered Somerset Regional Council his full support.

Member for Ipswich West Jim Madden also welcomed the news, saying the funding would go a long way to ensuring the quick restoration of essential public infrastructure.

"I've made several visits to Fernvale since last Tuesday and assisted with the clean up over the weekend, and I'm only too aware of just how big an effect the storm has had on residents," Mr Madden said.
