Fun in the sun as Jacaranda Festival blooms, crowds grow
RECORD crowds headed to Goodna over the weekend to enjoy three days of fun at the annual Jacaranda Festival.
Event organiser Mathew Taylor said more than 30,000 people converged on Evan Marginson Park for the much-loved festival.
"The event went sensationally well," he said.
"I know that this year was at least 10% bigger than previous years."
Mr Taylor said some of the biggest attractions over the course of the weekend included the fireworks display, the Flair Riders and the kids' corner.
"There were a lot of people who came to see the fireworks on Saturday night," he said.
"At the Flair Riders' shows, they had lots of people come and watch them each and every time.
"Not only did they jump through the air on their bikes, but there were also flames.
"For the little ones, they loved the kids' corner. We had a clown there who entertained hundreds of kids at once.
"They couldn't get enough of him."
