Free Wi-Fi goes live at popular Ipswich spot

FREE Wi-Fi has just been switched on at one Ipswich's most popular family destinations.

Since it opened Orion Lagoon has attracted more than 400,000 people and now families have another reason to visit the popular summer spot.  There is no password, just 'high speed' Wi-Fi, the council says.

City Works, Parks, Sport and Environment Chair Councillor David Morrison said the installation of Wi-Fi at the lagoon laid the platform for the rollout of Smart City services in the future.

"Having access to a high speed Wi-Fi network at the lagoon will enable us to look at other smart technology down the track, such as intelligent lighting and smart bins," Cr Morrison said.
