Four-year-old best friends remind us all what love is
VALENTINE'S Day can mean different things to different people, but to Hayley Waldron and Jye Hartwell, the concept of love is simple.
We asked the kids, who are both four this month, a few questions about their relationship as best friends.
What do you think love means?
Hayley: It means you put a heart on them.
Jye: It means people are your family and you stick together.
Who do you love most in the whole world?
Hayley: Jye and Mummy.
Jye: Mum, Dad, Joel, Jordy, Jo, Jamie, Dicko, Dee, Hayley, Kelly, Tori, Lyle, Macca, excavator man.
What should you do if you love someone?
Hayley: Find them, give them cuddles and kisses and put a love heart on them and share play dough with them.
Jye: Be a buddy. Share all your stuff. You should protect them from tigers and monsters and sneaky bandits.
Why is Jye/Hayley your best friend?
Hayley: Cos I love him. He follows me, he helps me, he looks after me.
Jye: She is very cute. She has big eyeballs. We have fun. She comes with me on adventures. She likes my ideas and plans.
What games do you like to play with each other?
Hayley: I play horse riding, we play. We make Thomas (the) Tank Engine tracks and I share my play dough with him. He is my friend at Kindy. I go to the farm and Jye comes to mine house. We do Pony Club.
What do you want to be when you grow up?
Hayley: I want to have some money and a wallet from the bank.
Jye: A pirate/cowboy/truck driver. And have an excavator shop.
