Four in custody after police shooting

THREE men are in custody and one remains under police guard in hospital with a gunshot wound after a dramatic car chase in Brisbane's north last night.

It is alleged the men are part of an organised crime gang responsible for at least a dozen robberies across Brisbane since Good Friday and up to 150 offences dating back to January.

Police allege the four men fled in a stolen car from an address in Zillmere about 9.45pm and were chased by officers.

It is alleged the men drove the red Holden Commodore at a police blockade on Lutwyche Road.

It is understood one officer fired his gun in self-defence, blowing out two of the car's tyres and wounding a male passenger.
