Former Victorian Finks OMCG member arrested

POLICE say they have arrested a former senior member of the Victorian Finks outlaw motorcycle gang on a string of charges.

Detectives from Taskforce Maxima arrested a 25-year-old man at a Birkdale address this morning.

Detectives from Victoria  will seek the extradition of the man in relation to charges of aggravated burglary, assault with a weapon, assault, intentionally causing injury and other related charges.  The charges relate to an incident at Lilydale, Victoria on 2 August 2015.

The man is to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates court today where his extradition will be sought.

Acting Detective Inspector Tim Leadbetter of Taskforce Maxima said the arrest was another example of the commitment of the Queensland Police Service to work in partnerships with other law enforcement agencies and dismantle outlaw motorcycle gangs

"The arrest sends a message to all members of Outlaw Motorcycle Gangs that criminal activity will not be tolerated.  We will continue to work with other jurisdictions to provide a national approach to this criminal network, "he said.
