Former Panther gets chance with Titans

FORMER Penrith forward Chris Grevsmuhl will be handed a second chance at an NRL career, after the Titans signed him to a two-year deal.

Grevsmuhl will officially join the Gold Coast this week, after he was released from his Panthers contract at the end of last year due to personal issues.

The club confirmed the signing today and revealed they had been working with the 24-year-old in recent weeks to set up an appropriate support network around him.

Coach Neil Henry said in a statement that Townsville-born Grevsmuhl deserved a chance to resurrect his NRL career.

"Chris has obviously had some personal issues that he has had to deal with over the last few months and as a club we've taken our time to work with him to get the best results for everyone,” Henry said.

"Whilst we know the talents Chris has on the field, we will continue to assist him in all areas of his life, both on and off the field.”

The signing is a major boost for the Titans who are in the middle of an injury crisis.
