"Blindly" following a mate was no excuse

A MAN who "just followed his friend" onto an Seqwater property in Kholo has been placed on a good behaviour bond.

Kane Peter Anthony O'Keefe pleaded guilty at the Ipswich Magistrates Court yesterday to trespassing.

On December 22 O'Keefe and a friend drove to the fenced off area on Kholo Rd, with regular signs stating entering the area was Seqwater property. Police alleged the friend cut the fence and drove on before O'Keefe followed.

When asked by Magistrate Dermot Kehoe why they went there O'Keefe said he was "just following my friend out there."

Mr Kehoe said O'Keefe "blindly" following his friend was a poor excuse. He was placed on a $400 good behaviour bond for six months.
