Fleeing biker hurt after colliding with gutter

THE Forensic Crash Unit is investigating a serious motorcycle crash that occurred at Goodna last night.

Initial reports indicate that just before 6.30pm, a motorcycle went through the intersection of Smiths and Stuart sts and continued to drive dangerously, heading west along Smiths Rd.

Approximately one kilometre from the intersection, the rider lost control when he struck the gutter and was subsequently thrown from the motorcycle.

Just prior to the crash police attempted to intercept the motorcycle on Stuart St, however did not pursue or further attempt to stop the motorcycle as it travelled on to Smiths Rd.

The rider, a 32-year-old man, was taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a critical condition.

There is no further information available at this stage.

Investigations are continuing, overviewed by the Ethical Standards Command.
