FIVE people who were rushed to hospital following an apparent drug overdose at a Queensland dance party at the weekend have been discharged.

Emergency services were alerted to the incident on Sunday just after 5pm after reports six people had lost consciousness at the Dirty Funken Beats island party on South Stradbroke Island.

Four men and one woman were rushed to hospital with one man unconscious and in a critical condition.

A sixth person left the scene before emergency services arrived.

It is believed the party-goers, aged in their 20s, had consumed the deadly drug fantasy - or liquid ecstasy as it is also known.
