THE New Year's Eve fireworks display at North Ipswich Reserve did not disappoint last night, wowing thousands of locals at the community celebrations.

Plenty of families took to the grass with picnics, rugs and chairs in tow to celebrate the fifth annual New Year's event which saw 2,500 fireworks go off in a light show to remember.

Festivities also included children's rides, roving entertainment and live music.
