Firies arrive to help in clean-up
FIRE brigades have come from the Gold Coast region and other areas to help residents and businesses.
Twenty fire vehicles have arrived in the Laidley-Forest Hill region to hose out inundated buildings.
Captain Russel Roger-Jones, of Kooralbyn, said 10 vehicles each were assisting in Laidley and Forest Hill.
Captain Roger-Jones said the firies would return in the morning to continue their work, adding that they would be there for as long as it took.
Townsfolk are still livid about the damage an “army-style vehicle” caused during the flood.
A witness said the driver was “roaring” down the main street ignoring screams from bystanders to slow down. The bow wave broke windows and doors that otherwise would have survived.
