Fire crews control fire in Upper Lockyer

TEN fire crews battled a large grass fire at Upper Lockyer yesterday evening.

The fire on Thomas Rd broke out about 3pm.

Fire crews backburned to protect homes. The fire came close to established boundary lines but no properties were threatened.

It was brought under control by 8pm.

Two fire crews returned to the scene this morning to monitor the fire which is burning within containment lines.
